Privacy Policy

1. Introduction
Helpr ("Helpr", "we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting the privacy of individuals who use the Helpr platform (the "Platform"), whether as a Customer seeking household services or a Helpr providing them. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and disclose it, and how you can access or correct it. It is written to comply with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
2. Information We Collect
What we collect depends on whether you sign up as a Customer or a Helpr.
From all users:
- Name, email address, phone number, and postal address
- Account login and profile information
- Communications you send us (support enquiries, feedback)
From Helprs, in addition to the above:
- Date of birth
- Australian Business Number (ABN) or, where not provided, Tax File Number (TFN) as required for tax withholding
- Bank account details, for payment of earnings
- Working with Children Check (WWCC) number and status, for Helprs offering babysitting services
- Background check results, where checks are conducted as part of onboarding
- Total earnings and transaction history on the Platform
From Customers, in addition to general information:
- Home address (for service delivery)
- Payment card details (processed by our third-party payment processor; Helpr does not store full card numbers)
- Booking preferences, including service frequency (one-off, weekly, fortnightly, monthly)
3. How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your account and facilitate bookings between Customers and Helprs
- To verify Helpr identity, ABN status, and (where applicable) WWCC status before activating a listing
- To process payments and remit earnings to Helprs
- To meet our legal and regulatory obligations, including reporting to the Australian Taxation Office under the Sharing Economy Reporting Regime (SERR)
- To communicate with you about bookings, platform updates, and support requests
- To investigate safety concerns, complaints, or suspected breaches of our Terms of Service
- To improve the Platform, including using aggregated, de-identified data for product decisions
4. Disclosure of Your Information
We disclose personal information only where necessary, including to:
- The Australian Taxation Office, as required under SERR
- Our payment processing provider, to process transactions
- Background check and WWCC verification providers, to confirm eligibility
- Customers and Helprs, limited to information reasonably necessary to complete a booking
- Law enforcement or regulators, where required by law
We do not sell personal information to third parties.
5. Data Storage and Security
We store personal information using reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect it from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access. Sensitive information such as WWCC status and bank details is subject to additional access restrictions internally. Hosting details will be confirmed and updated prior to full launch.
6. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as necessary to provide the Platform, meet our legal obligations (including SERR record-keeping requirements), and resolve disputes. Helprs' earnings and transaction data relevant to SERR reporting is retained in accordance with ATO record-keeping requirements.
7. Your Rights
- You may request access to the personal information we hold about you.
- You may request correction of inaccurate or out-of-date information.
- You may request deletion of your account, subject to our legal obligation to retain certain records for the periods required by law.

8. Complaints
If you believe we have breached the Australian Privacy Principles, you may lodge a complaint with us at hello@findahelpr.com.au. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
9. Cookies and Tracking
Our website may use cookies and similar technologies to operate the Platform and understand usage.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, including as the Platform moves from private beta to full launch. Material changes will be notified via email or in-platform notice.
